Anyone can follow a prescriptive plan for a certain amount of time – we all start with enthusiasm and motivation to follow it every day and do exactly what we are told.

There’s nothing wrong with this approach whilst the enthusiasm and motivation last.  Sometimes it’s all we need to kick ourselves back into gear.

However, the majority of the time, once that initial momentum dissipates, we find ourselves back to familiar habits that don’t serve our ultimate goals. This can sometimes lead to a spiralling out of control and a feeling of desperation and self-loathing “I have no self control”, “I’m no good at this”. “insert relevant negative put down…”. I know, because I’ve been there! That’s when the prescriptive approach lets us down.

Coaching is a process, which means that it takes time and thought.  The results are amazing – transformative, life changing and revealing. It’s a learning process which unveils things about our personality, our habits and our thought patterns.  From this new state of awareness, it’s possible to identify approaches that we can adopt to start to make significant change towards achieving our ultimate state.  The incredible thing is that often those approaches aren’t what we originally thought were part of the equation, were important or even possible. It often takes an outsider to ask a question or offer a slightly different perspective for us to be able to uncover a key step in our path to success.

One of the other things I love about coaching is that it allows you to choose a path that will work for YOU.  You are an individual – your life experiences, dreams, personality are all unique to you, so following a plan that has been created for mass consumption might work, but a coaching led plan is something that is YOURS.  It is all about YOU…your starting point is different from anyone else’s, your reasons for wanting to achieve certain things are YOURS, your lifestyle and schedule aren’t the same as everyone else’s and the way you view the world is unique – so why would you follow something generic, when you are one of a kind? We all know what we need to do, but we don’t always know how to start or how to make new habits stick.

My top 3 reasons you should chose Active Vitality to help you transform your health and wellbeing…

I’ve been there

I know what it feels like to feel like you’ve tried everything and nothing is moving in the direction that you want. I’m not naturally thin or sporty, I love crisps and gin so I have to work at it every day. I also have 2 young kids, have spent the last 15 years working for big corporates putting everything and everyone else before my own needs (and suffered as a result!)

I’m qualified

I’m a level 5 performance coach (with NLP) and I’m also a qualified personal trainer. Combining these two qualifications means that you get a knowledgeable side kick who looks at the whole picture with you

I LOVE what I do

Coaching is amazing – no two people are the same, no two bodies respond in the same way to an exercise or diet prescription and I find that so fascinating that I am totally committed to finding a solution that will work for each client. This has led to my passion for helping ambitious, intelligent, working Mums find time to prioritise their health and wellbeing.
